It rained heavily in India in recent days. Central India is hard hit. North India even saw some major rain related incidence. Spain is on wildfires in some areas, Europe and UK is on high heatwaves. I want you all to take care, be hydrated, keep in water.

Today I share you how I make typical Indian meal. Typically Indian meal have one dal (lentils), one side dish and flat bread.
Here’s how my today’s Indian meal looks like.

Let me share with you first the dal (pulses/lentils) recipe.
I ll share capsicum cottage cheese side dish tomorrow.
Flat bread is simple, I can explain it sooner.
So fold your sleeves, today is my version of Indian lentils.
Just like other dishes I make, I simmered lentils in black pepper, this is not what typically Indian cooks do. So this is the difference, and it adds to all the taste that it can.
Here is recipe for three people.

Step 1. Take half cup of dry yellow lentil locally called moong dal. Wash it well in clean water. Add one and a half glass of water in this lentil utensil. Let it be soaked in water for half hour.
Give 4 whistles in a pressure cooker. Do not open the cooker till pressure in cooker is null.

Step 2. Cut finely 4 garlic cloves. Peel of one onion and wash one tomato.

Step 3. Grate half onion.

Step 4. Grate one tomato.


Step 5. Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.

Step 6. Add one teaspoon of cumin seeds when oil is heated.

Step 7. Now add cut garlic in hot oil.

Step 8. Add black pepper in oil now. Then add grated half onion now in frying pan. Keep mixing the frying pan till onion turn golden.

Step 9. Now add grated tomato in frying pan.

Step 10. Keep mixing till oil leaves tomato and onion mixture.

Step 11. Now add little by little boiled yellow lentil.

Step 12. Mix well.

Step 13. Add some freshly cut coriander leaves now in frying pan.

Step 14. Mix well.

Dish is ready. Serve hot.
