Split Chickpeas Mix

Greetings,

Hope you are doing well.

Here, today I present my own recipe of split chickpeas. Split chickpeas are not the same as chickpeas. Split chickpeas is referred to as Chana dal in India to differentiate it from chickpeas.

It’s tasty, delicious, fresh and nutritious.

Here is the recipe.

Do try it.

It’s full of protein, fibers and taste.

Step 1. Take one-third cup of split chickpeas.

Step 2. Wash the pulses and soak it in one cup of water for one hour.

Step 3. After one hour take the water out from bowl. Wash it again. Add this soaked split chickpeas in pressure cooker with equal amount of water. Give it 2 whistles after adding half teaspoon of salt to it.

Step 4. While the pressure in cooker is there. Cut one tomato and one onion in small parts. Wash 7 or so fresh curry leaves.

Step 5. By now the split chickpeas are boiled. Soak out extra water. Take it out of cooker.

Step 6. Heat one tablespoon of cooking oil in frying pan.

Step 7. Optionally add some mustard seeds for taste.

Step 8. Cut curry leaves in small parts and add it in frying pan.

Step 9. Now add boiled split chickpeas in frying pan. Close the heat of gas stove now.

Step 10. Add cut tomato and cut onion in it now.

Step 11. Add some red chili, I added one third teaspoon and some more salt.
