Yellow Lentils Potatoes Mix (Moong lentils)

Greetings everyone,

Happy Jewish New Year, it happens to be their new year. I like to know lot of religions, their festivals.

Today I had lot of sweets, I had roasted vermicelli with bura sugar ( a kind of sugar) I had it a lot, so the drink I made was Limetta iced tea, I wanted to add honey to it but I thought I had enough sweet for today.

So I thought to make something light. I had this recipe in my mind. I gave my recipe a shape. I never had cooked anything like this before with yellow lentils.

Here is it, I call it Yellow lentil potato mix.

It’s delicious. Try it. I had it with Limetta Iced Tea ( shared in separate blog)

Recipe for one here.

Step 1. Take curry leaves, wash them.

Step 2. Cut 2 garlic cloves, one tomato and one onion in small parts.

Step 3. Take half cup of yellow lentil in a bowl. Wash it well.

Step 4. After washing put the wet lentil in a pressure cooker. You can choose other ways to boil it if you like.

Step 5. Peel one potato, cut it small into 12 parts and put it in pressure cooker. Add water two third of the cup used to measure lentils.

Step 6. Give it one whistle and let the pressure in cooker reduce on its own. Open it when all vapors are settled. Look here how it looks. Water has to dry as it a dry dish.

Step 7. Heat one tablespoon of cooking oil. Add half teaspoon of mustard seeds in it, once oil is heated.

Step 8. Now add cut curry leaves in the frying pan.

Step 9. Mix well, add cut garlic in it now.

Step 10. Add onion in frying pan now. Mix well.

Step 11. Mix till color changes to golden.

Step 12. Add cut tomato in frying pan now.

Step 13. Mix well. Add salt to taste and red chilli powder to taste.

Step 14. Add lentil potato boiled in cooker to frying pan now. Mix well

It’s ready to serve immediately.
