Potato Onion Rice – Simple, Tasty And Quick Meal

How are you doing! Greetings from Australia Kitchen here! I cooked a simple beautiful tasty meal for a nice evening. It’s quick, and a nice meal. If you like it, you may try it.

Ingredients: Three-Fourth bowl rice, one and a half spoon cooking oil, one onion, two potatoes, 2 green chill/ red chilli powder, salt.

Step 1. Take Three-Fourth bowl of rice.

Step 2. Two potato’s and One onion now.

Step 3. Wash rice two to four times in a bigger bowl.

Step 4. Finely cut one onion only.

Step 5. Finely cut two potatoes.

Step 6. Finely cut two green chillis or use red chill powder whatever is available.

Step 7. Wash a pressure cooker and heat it on induction cooking stove or other available cooking stove. Pressure cooker is choosen for quick five minutes cooking, you may choose to use available option of heating in an open pan, which may take some more minutes.

Step 8. Add Two spoons of vegetable oil in the pressure cooker/ boiling pan/ cooking pan. Add finely cut onion in cooker.

Step 9. Fry the cut onions till it changes color and turns golden.

Step 10. Add potatoes in the frying pan/cooking pan/pressure cooker whichever was choose for cooking above.

Step 11. Mix the contents well with a steel spatula in case of steel cooking pan or wooden spatula as per the pan.

Step 12. Add red chilli powder/ green chilli prepared above, as per the taste. Add common salt as per taste.

Step 13. Add the wet rice in the chosen cooking pan.

Step 14. Mix contents in the chosen cooking pan well, in case of pressure cooker add same amount of water as rice in addition to this water add one-fourth bowl water more. Close the lid of cooker and wait for one whistle, in case chosen pan is an open pan boil with little extra extra water.

Step 15. It’s ready in one pressure cooker whistle, wait for steam of pressure cooker to come out and open the pressure cooker. In case open cooking pan of other kind is used procedure for boiling may be followed.

Step 16. Time to serve the simple, quick and tasty dish.
