Spicy Tomato Capsicum Potato Salad

Note even Russian salad have mayo in it – Making of Mayo require oil and milk. Hence in Russian salads we cant add salt and spices. Here we can as there no Mayo in it, hence no milk.

Ingredients: 4 tomatoes, oil-1/3 small bowl, 1 capsicum, 1 potato, Spices as per liking

Step 1. Heat 1/3 small bowl of oil in pan. Wash 4 tomatoes.

Step 2. Cut tomatoes and mix it in mixture grinder

Step 3. Put the mixture in hot oil. While you are making the tomato in grinder. Close the lid of oil. No need to keep heating oil extra. Just till very mild vapors are seen. Close gas lid and add these contents from grinder.

Step 4. Take 1 capsicum, 1 green chili and 1 potato

Step 5. Mix the pan contents for 2 minute, oil starts separating mildly. That is all that is needed for right taste – you can try heating it little more as well, it will yield altogether a different taste.

Step 6. Cut the capsicum and tomatoes in small pieces.

Step 7. Mix vegetables in pan

Step 8. Put 1 and a half glass of water and let it heat with close lid for 10 minutes. Just check water don’t dry up in between. Don’t add over extra water.

Step 9. Open lid, dry up water. 10 minutes is enough to make potatoes soft and very mildly crispy. Same for capsicum.

Keep mixing with spatula.

Step 10. Add spices of choice – such as ginger powder, garlic powder, pepper, salt, red chili and mix well. Mildly soft and mildly crispy salad.
